Off the Grid/Stock up

With the threat of delay for everyday goods how do we as consumers survive the uncertainty of availability common household items? As Americans we never really think about not having common items because they are, for now, always available, It's the "I'll come back for it later" mentality. We never really had any restriction on obtaining everyday household goods. The choices of any common household item has always been abundant. When we walk into a store one side of the aisle is Laundry Detergent for days and lots of it to choose from, leaving us often times confused and or very picky in making the decision on something as simple as Laundry Detergent. I get it, were used to this but is truly a waste to have such a big assortment of laundry detergent ? Another aisle that out of control is Cereal. In the larger Grocery stores there is every single type of cereal to choose from when and as we get older and we opt for a healthily lifestyle and either no longer eat cereal but it's there if we needed it. We are so restrictive in what we feed our kids also so do we need an entire grocery aisle of it when we no longer feed it to our kids. Are we so obsessed with choices that we have to keep proving its abundance to ourselves by having an entire super collection of specific items in any isle. For me artistically I've been obsessed with the way Target displays their uncluttered store shelves with any and all products Everything's arranged especially synchronous which is beautiful to look at but to me an overabundance of supply but we know its available. Are we prepared to accept that the store shelves are bare of everyday goods for whatever reason? if so I will be double traumatized, first the pandemic, now the complication of shipping and receiving due to tariffs. Let these images sink in for now.
